Betty Lucille Unger

Betty L. Unger, 91 of Greenville, passed away September 12, 2018 at the State of the Heart Care Center.

She was born on February 18, 1927 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Omer and Mae (Karns) Hicks.

Betty attended Greenville Wesleyan Holiness Church in Greenville. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, vegetable and flower gardening.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan F. Unger; her daughter, Susan D. Unger-Jewett; her brothers, John Hicks, Keith Hicks, and Joe Hicks.

Betty is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Larry (Connie) Unger of Southside, Alabama and Gary Unger and friend, Bonnie Robinette of Greenville; her grandchildren, Lori (Steve) Smith of Union, Ohio, and Jeffrey Unger of West Milton; her great grandchildren, Sierra and Sydney Smith and Sklyar and Bret Unger; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence (Miriam) Hicks of Greenville, and Ira (Mary) Hicks of Bradford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty's family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Oakley Place and State of the Heart Care for their kindness and compassion for her during this difficult time.

A Celebration of Betty's life will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Rev. Rodney Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park in Covington, Ohio.

Family and friends may visit from 10 AM until time of services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be given to Greenville Wesleyan Holiness Church, 201 Hall Street, Greenville, Ohio, 45331, Oakley Place, 1275 Northview Dr., Greenville, Ohio 45331, or State of the Heart Care, 1350 N. Broadway, Greenville, Ohio 45331.
