Christine Landis

October 9, 1949 — May 13, 2019

Christine "Chris" Landis, 69, of Union City, Ohio, passed away, surrounded by her family, after a long hard-fought battle, on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

She was born on October 9, 1949 in Union City, Indiana to the late Paul and Flo (Hiestand) Van De Pitte.

Chris had a fun loving and caring spirit. In her younger years, you could find her bowling or playing softball. Throughout her life she enjoyed playing cards, traveling, going to casinos, cross-stitching, knitting, and loved watching gameshows. She loved her family and looked forward to watching her grandkids participate in activities and events. Chris was a hard worker who spent a lot of her time caring for others; she cared for her parents, her in-laws, and her brother Mark for many many years.

Chris is survived by her husband of 51 years, Kenneth Landis, whom she married November 4, 1967; her children and their spouses, Chad and Michelle Landis of Vernon Hills, Illinois, and Nichole and Ismael Anguiano of Union City, Ohio; her grandchildren, Allison and Annemarie Landis, Cameron, Alex and Drew Anguiano; her siblings and their spouses, Mark Van De Pitte of Greenville, PaulEtte and Buck Hartzell of Union City, Indiana, Rick and Debra Van De Pitte of Union City, Ohio, Gail and Troy McAdams of Walton, Kentucky, and Jackie and David Englehart of Freemont, Ohio; and countless nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Chris' life will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Jeff Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Union Cemetery.

Guests may visit with Chris' family on Friday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Chris' family would like to extend their warmest heart-felt gratitude for the care and compassion given by her doctors, nurses, and aides at Village Green and Miami Valley Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Rick Bowlin for the many years of care and outreach.
