Dorothy J. (Roeckner) Ulrich, 87, of Greenville, passed away Friday evening, December 24, 2010 at Heartland of Greenville. She was born June 29, 1923 in Dayton, daughter of the late William and Marie (Bosch) Roeckner. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Whitt and a brother, Jack Roeckner. Dorothy had a full life with family, music, greeting cards, books, dancing, and skating. She had worked at the Arcanum Times, The Early Bird, The Greenville Advocate, and retired from the Darke County Welfare Office in 1989. She was a volunteer for the Wayne Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Paul E. Ulrich, whom she married July 28, 1945; children, Kent (Linda) Ulrich, Barry (Judy) Ulrich, Marilyn Brumbaugh, Jayne (Brian) Connair, and Kim (Dave) Roberts; 13 grandchildren, Jessica., Nicole, Cameron, and Aaron Ulrich, Lora (Duane) Cook, Greg Brumbaugh, Todd and Bill Ulrich, Mollie (Brian) Watson, Evan Connair, Dan (Emilee) Roberts, Leah, and Jon Roberts; 15 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Betty) Roeckner; a sister, Pat (Al) Fleury; and a sister-in-law, Anne Gilmore of Florida. Services will be held Thursday, December 30 at 11 a.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Colleen Beasecker officiating. Burial will follow in the Newcomers Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5-8 p.m and again Thursday from 10 a.m. till services at 11 a.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to either the Wayne Hospital Auxiliary or State of the Heart Hospice.
