Edith Irene Clapp

Edith Clapp, 86, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2012. Edith was born on October 30, 1925 in Crawford County, Indiana to the late Alvin and Sella (Wiseman) Eaton.
Edith worked most of her life and retired from the Dana Corporation. She loved to bake and cook.  She enjoyed making big meals and serving it to the entire family. Family was a very important factor in Edith's life. She also loved gardening. She had flower and vegetable gardens. She enjoyed canning the crops produced from her garden.
Along with her parents, Edith is  preceded in death by her husband, Richard Clapp; brothers John and Alfred Eaton; sisters, Elizabeth LaHue and Beulah Jacobi.
Edith  is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Linda and Joey Jones of Greenville and Gail Cooper and Dan Massie of Greenville; five grandchildren, Jacqueline Renee  Wheelock and friend Rob, Scott Allen Wilt and friend Mendi, Angelia Marie Rehmert, Benjamin J.  Cooper and wife Shannon, and Timothy  J. Cooper; eight great grandchildren, and numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren; brother and sister in law, Jasper and Judy Eaton of Clarksville, IN; sisters and brother in law, Madeline and Merle Harpenau of Tell City, IN and Mattie Goldman of Massillon, OH; two step daughters and son in law, Tina and Rudolph Struever of Greenville and Vickie Winsett, Hemet, CA;  and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 12:30 PM at the Braund Funeral Home in New Madison with Pastor Kyle Hermann officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until the time of service. Burial will be at the Greenmound  Cemetery in New Madison, Ohio.
