F. Leroy Holsinger

October 21, 1933 — December 9, 2021

Frank LeRoy Holsinger, son of John and Elizabeth (Boyd) Holsinger, was born October 21, 1933, in Linn County Iowa near Robins and departed this life on December 9, 2021, at his home: Brookhaven Retirement Community, Brookville Ohio.

When Dad was four years old, he moved with his parents and sister from Iowa to Carroll County Indiana near Rossville, to a small farm half a mile east of North Fork District Church House. He joined the Old German Baptist Brethren Church at the North Fork district on October 15, 1951, to which he remained faithful until the end. We watched his faith grow stronger in the Lord as he grew older and weaker in body.

Dad worked at the State Hospital in Richmond, Indiana doing his 1-W service. He was united in marriage with Marjorie King on May 29, 1954. Mom and Dad had 59 years together until her passing on June 19, 2013. They lived their married life in Ohio, between Preble and Darke Counties. Dad worked at farming, worked at the Brethren Home in maintenance and purchasing, drove truck for New Paris Oil, and for Armsway Transport.

Dad and Mom owned and operated the Country Bread Bakery in Greenville. Dad enjoyed gardening and raising produce, which he took to farmers market along with baked goods that Mom made. He loved and enjoyed people. His guest book shows he had invited friends and filled his dining room table 26 times from March 2014 to April 2018, cooking and serving all the food himself.

In October 2018, Dad moved from Darke County to Montgomery County making his home at Brookhaven in Brookville, Ohio, where he enjoyed his time living in his own apartment in the independent living section. In September 2021, he was taken to the hospital where he spent a couple weeks. Upon returning to Brookhaven, he went into the nursing section and was there until his passing.

He was preceded in death by his companion, parents, parents-in-law, Rufus Sr. and Zaida (Boone) King; sister, Dorothy Holsinger; brothers-in-law, Paul King, Ralston King, Ronald King, Charles Brumbaugh, Elwyn Beachler; sisters-in-law, Charlene (infant), Mary Brunk, Beverly Bowman; and one Great grandson.
