Frieda Hartzell, 104, of Greenville, passed away early Friday morning, July 9, 2010 at her residence. She was born October 29, 1905 in Greenville Township, Darke County, daughter of the late Frank and Matilda (Grote) Rismiller. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David John Hartzell on July 4, 1974; a brother, Elva Rismiller; and a sister, Norma Campbell. Frieda was a retired school teacher having taught for Darke County School's and retiring from Ansonia Local School.  She was a lifetime member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Greenville and a member of the Ohio Retired Teacher's Association and a lifetime member of the Greenville VFW Post 7262 Auxil iary. She is survived by her son, Alan David Hartzell of Greenville; sister, Edna Marie Engelken of Greenville; and nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2 p.m.  Tuesday, July 13, at the St. John Lutheran Church, Greenville with the Rev. Alan Knoke officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John's Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 1 p.m. till 2 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the St. John's Lutheran Church, the American Heart Association or the Cancer Association of Darke County. Services have been entrusted with the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville.
