George B. Moore

George B. Moore, Jr., 69 of Millersville, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 21, 2011 in Greenville, Ohio. He was born April 2, 1942 in Greenville. son of the late George B., Sr. and Lillian Marie (Fields) Moore. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, George B Moore, III on January 28, 2006; a brother, Clayton Moore, and a sister, Serena Kay Moore. George was retired from the US Army having served for 25 years. He was then employed by the National Security Agency.   He was a member of the Severna Park United Methodist Church in Serverna Park, MD. A devoted and loving family, George is survived by his wife of 50 years, Vera I. (Dickey) Moore whom he married December 23, 1960; sons, Jeffery (Cathy) Moore of Sturbridge, Mass., Gregory Moore of Millersville, MD; grandchildren, Holly, Alysa, Ashton, and Autumn Moore; sister, Helen (Newman) Ross of Sidney; a brother, Thomas (Merry) Moore of Arcanum; his mother-in-law, Leona Dickey of Rossburg: and numerous nieces and nephews. Services with full military honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Steve Short officiating.  Burial will follow in the Abbottsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, August 24 from 5-8 p.m.  The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Beamsville Christian Church.
