Gladys A. Burns

Gladys A. Burns, 91, of Greenville and formerly of Ansonia, passed away Monday afternoon, November 10, 2008 at Wayne Hospital in Greenville. She was born in Darke County, daughter of the late Russell and Margaret (Hiestand) Brewer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil N. Burns on June 19, 1976; and brothers and sisters, Mike, Betty, Gene and Mildred. A homemaker, she was a member of the Ansonia United Methodist Church. Gladys was the loving mother of Gary Burns of Greenville, James (Phyllis) Burns of West Alexandria and Steve Burns of Greenville; grandchildren, Kristina (Michael) Sharritts, Douglas (Brenda) Burns, Denise (Randy) Armantrout, Lora (Michael) Lawson, Matthew Burns, Stacy Burns and Scott (Yvonne) Burns; great grandchildren, McKenzie Sharritts, Nicholas Sharritts, Josh Burns, Ryan Burns, Logan Burns, Devin Preuss, Dylan Burns, Kaleb Lawson, Kara Lawson, Lauren Burns and Nicholas Burns; and a sister Thelma Horn of Greenville. Service will be held Thursday, November 13 at 10:30 a.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Joe Royer officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Ansonia United Methodist Church Building Fund.
