Helen L. Grimes, 83, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday morning, April 2 at Wayne Hospital in Greenville. She was born in Darke County, daughter of the late Richard and Mabel (Manzey) Mote. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Herman H. Grimes on April 3, 1994; five brothers, Gerald Mote, Glen A. Mote, Raymond A. Mote and two brothers in infancy; and 4 sisters, Donna Mong, Ruby Maloy, Ruth Rose and Leora Burkett. A homemaker, Helen had attended the Coletown Christian Church and was active in the Ladies Aid Society of the church. She was a member of the Greenville Area Senior Citzens. She is survived by her children, Bonnie (Dean) Whipp of Greenville, Cynthia (Forest "Bill") Gibson of Greenville, Ardith Grimes of Greenville, Dallas Grimes of Greenville and Dakota (Paul Cupak) Rose of Franklin, IN; grandchildren, Scott (Diana) Gibson, Stacy (Tony) Alexander, Jason (Stephanie) Christman, Ryan (Rebecca) Christman, Jodi Christman; step grandson, Brian (Sue) Whipp; great grandchildren, Hunter Ryan Alexander, Haley Renee Christman, Caitlyn Ellen Christman, Tyler Andrew Alexander and she was expecting another great grandchild soon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday, April 5 at 11:30 a.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, Greenville with the Rev. Eric Knight officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 9:30 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to either the Ladies Aid Society of the Coletown Church, the Greenville Area Senior Citzens or the charity of the donor's choice.
