Herbert F. Luebke, 86, of Greenville and formerly of Osgood and Troy, OH prior to retiring in Sugar Hollow, VA, passed away Monday evening, April 22, 2008 at Heartland of Greenville. He was born in North Star, OH son of the late Henry and Claire (Overman) Luebke. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, June O. (Gunkle) Luebke in 1994; a grandson, Nathan J. Stucke in 1998; a sister, Eleanor Dinger; and 2 brothers, Ed and Bob Luebke. Herbert was retired from General Motors. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the Army Air Corps as a tail gunner on a B-17 Bomber. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville, VFW Post 6557 in Pleasant Hill, OH and American Legion Post 588 in Osgood, OH. He is survived by his children, Connie (Tom) Stucke of Greenville, OH; Ronald (Pattie) Luebke of Englewood, OH, and Tim (Kim) Luebke of Columbus, OH, and 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Grieshop of Osgood, OH; and 2 sisters-in-law, Thelma Luebke and Lois Steinbrunner. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 25 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville with the Rev. Glen Perin celebrating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the St. Martin Cemetery in Osgood. The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, 1000 N. Broadway, Greenville on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice, 1350 N.
