Howard W. "Howie" Carnahan, 80, of Greenville, passed away early Monday morning, August 25, 2008 at the Versailles Health Care Center. He was born in Darke County, son of the late Alfred and Ruby Carnahan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard, Kenneth and Alfred M. "Bud" Carnahan; and sisters, Kathryn Skinner and Rhea Coates-Leister. Howie worked as a watch repairman. He was a member of the Union City Eagles and the Union City Counrty Club and was an avid golfer.He was a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII. He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Miller) Carnahan whom he married September 14, 1994; a daughter, Rhonda Helman of Piqua; step sons, Tab (Sherry) Teaford, Tod (Christi) Teaford and Tim (Evelyn) Teaford all of Greenville; 2 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; a sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. Private Services will be held at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. There will be no public visitation. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Hospice.
