Walter J. "Jack" Stewart, Jr., 42, of Rossburg, passed away Saturday morning, March 1, 2008 at Southview Hospital in Dayton following a brief illness. Born in Greenville, Jack was the son of Christina (Chancey) and Ron Couchot of Rossburg and Walter J. Stewart, Sr. of Greenville. A 1984 graduate of Ansonia High School, Jack was an auto body repairman at Fleet Maintenance Center in Versailles. He served as a Captain on the Rossburg Fire Department and was President of the Rossburg Fire Association. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Deborah A. (Gehron) Stewart; three daughters, Beth, Mindy and Hope, all at home; three brothers, Dion (Cassandra) Stewart of Portland, IN, Dallas (Terri) Stewart of Celina and Chris Stewart of Versailles; paternal grandmother, Lorene Stewart of Greenville; maternal grandfather, Harry K. Chancey of Rossburg; mother and father-in-law, Willard and Karen Gehron of North Star; brother-in-law, Mike (Christine) Gehron of Vandalia; sisters-in-law, Christie (Bill) Rindler of North Star and Annette Shroyer of Willshire; aunts and uncles, Roger Stewart of Piqua, Otis (Ann) Stewart, Jeff Stewart and Rick and Corinna Alexander all of Versailles; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held Thursday, March 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Eric Fee officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery (New Part). The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Rossburg Fire Department.
