John L. Oliver

John L. Oliver, 75, of Versailles, passed away Monday morning, November 5 at the Versailles Health Care Center. He was born in Darke County son of the late Orlan "Pop" and Dorothy (Schilling) Oliver. A member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Versailles, John had driven truck for Poultry Producer's and Weaver's Brothers. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha (Schultz) Oliver whom he married February 17, 1951; 3 daughters, Susan and husband Phil McEldowney of Versailles; Teresa and husband Larry Miller of Yorktown, IN; Melanie and husband Rob Jacobs of Baltimore, MD; 3 grandchildren, John McEldowney, Jennifer and husband Adam Didier; Tara and husband Bryan Puckey; and 2 great grandchildren, Alexa and Brooklyn Puckey. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles. There will be no public calling. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be given to either the Versailles Life Squad of Spirit Ambulance Service. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville.
