Katherine Lucille Simpson

Katherine Lucille Simpson, age 94, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away Friday, February 28, 2014 at Rest Haven Nursing Home.
She was born June 25, 1919 in New Madison, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles "Joker" and Agnes Lipps.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dick Simpson; 2 sons, James Shumaker and Willard Shumaker, Jr.; 1 great granddaughter, Katelyn Shumaker; 4 siblings, Leah Mae Watkins, Joseph Lipps, Neva Jean Fisherback Brandon and Betty Gabbard.

Katherine worked at Red and Ruth's for many year. She was a loving wife, caring mother and devoted grandmother.

She is survived by 3 children; Richard (Beckie) Shumaker, Jack E. Shumaker both of Greenville, Ohio and Jerry (Christine) Shumaker of New Madison, Ohio; 1 sister, Gloria Sue Judy of New Paris; 5 grandchildren, Tracy (Jeff) Jarvis, Sean (April) Shumaker, Jody (Toby) Shumaker, Jeramy (Rebekah) Shumaker and Christy Hines and 12 great grandchildren.

Services will be held, Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 2PM at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends Tuesday from 5 – 7PM at the funeral home.
