Raymond H. Widener

Raymond H. "Butch" Widener, 76, of Rossburg, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly, on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Wayne Healthcare in Greenville, Ohio, surrounded by his family.

Butch was born on February 10, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late John and Evelyn (Mitchell) Widener.

In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Joni Widener; his siblings, Albert Widener, Harry "Ed" Widener, Sue Frye, and John (Julie) Widener.

Butch was a simple man and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed all things country and western, especially anything involving Loretta Lynn, Bill Anderson, and Conway Twitty. Butch liked Farmall tractors and has quite the collection, in which he took great pride. Butch worked for Corning Glass in Greenville for many years until the plant closed. He then went to FedEx and continued at the Huber Heights plant until his retirement.

He is survived by his children, Brenda (Ted Hunt) Widener of Union City, Ohio, Perry (Lora) Widener of Rossburg, and Ryan (Stacie Bierly) Widener of Greenville; his 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; his siblings, Sharon Bowman, Ron (Kathy) Widener, Dann "Slug" (Pam) Widener, Roselynn Widener, and James (Debbie) Widener; and his sister-in-law, Grace Widener.

A celebration of Butch's life will take place at 2:30 PM, on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus. Burial will follow in Brock Cemetery.

Guests may visit with Butch's family on Friday, December 10, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home in Greenville.

Memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home to help offset final expenses.
