Richard Jon Monteiro

Richard Jon Monteiro, 83, of Troy, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek, Ohio.

He was born on July 12, 1938, in Bourne, Massachusetts, to the late Jon S. and Minnie (Andrade) Monteiro.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Carmen Monteiro; and his sons, Anthony and Richard Monteiro.

Richard and his family had traveled the country, moving and living in places such as Hawaii to Alaska. He was a wood worker, carpenter and cabinet maker. His specialty was building custom cabinets. Richard is now at peace after a long health issues. He will be missed.

Richard is survived by his son, Tyrone Monteiro of Dayton, Ohio; his daughter, Tiara Monteiro of Anchorage, Alaska; and his three grandchildren.

There will be no public services for Richard at this time.

Richard's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Soin Medical Center for the tender care they gave till the very end; to Catrina of Catholic Services; Troy Rehab; and to Susan Fields, dear friend of the past 20 years, and caregiver for the last 10 years.
