Robert A. "Bob" Bolen, 76, of Greenville and formerly of Ansonia passed away Friday morning, September 7 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville. Bob was born January 19, 1931 near Union City, IN, son of the late R.A. "Rube" and Irene F. (Folger) Bolen. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Beth Warner. He was a retired insurance agent and real estate broker with offices in Union City, OH and near Ansonia. He graduated from Union City East Side High School in 1948. He was a member of the Rosehill United Methodist Church. Past Master of the former Ansonia Masonic Lodge and a current member of the Ft. Recovery Masonic Lodge. Past Master of the Matchett Council, Greenville. Past High Priest of the Greenville Royal Arch Masons. Past Commander of Coleman Commandry, Troy. Past President Darkc County Shrine Club. Past Worthy Patron of the former Ansonia Order of Eastern Star and current member of the Ft. Recovery Eastern Star. Past President of Dayton Miami Valley Society of CPCU. Past Secretary of Darke County Board of Realtors. Member of the Ohio Priory Knights of York Cross of Honour. Former Member Darke County Insurance Agents. Past member of the former Farmers State Bank in Union City, OH. Other memberships include the Republican Mens Club, Greenville and Community Senior Citizens of Community Action Partnership, Greenville. Served 40 years as Precint Committeeman for Brown Township. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Iris (Barga) Bolen whom he married June 3, 1951. Services will be held Monday, September 10 at 1 p.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, Greenville, OH. Burial will follow in the Teegarden Cemetery near Ansonia. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 11 a.m. till time of services at 1 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Shrine Crippled Childrens Fund.
