Robert  F. Riegel, 92, of Greenville passed away Tuesday evening, September 14, 2010 at Versailles Health Care Center. He was born April 17, 1918 in Brown Township in Darke County, son of the late Chester A. and Clara A. (Mapis) Riegel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, his brother, Jack; a sister, Jean. Bob was a retired farmer and owner and operator of Riegel  and Sons Grain Elevator of Woodington and Elroy.  He also raised Shetland Sheepdogs.   He was a veteran of WW II in the Army Aircorp.  Bob was a member of the Woodington Congregational Christian Church, Ansonia American Legion  and lifetime member of the  Darke County Dog Club. He is survived by his wife, J. Eileen "Dutch" (Holeton) Riegel; his children, Frederick E. (Jan) Riegel of Houston, OH, Edward F. Riegel of Brandon, FL, Roberta E. (Steve) Hall of Ansonia, OH, Ted A. (Kris) Riegel of New Carlisle, OH, Ned A.(Connie) Riegel of Lawenceburg,IN;  10 grandchildren;  5 great grandchildren;   a brother, Vaughn Riegel of New Paris; sisters Betty (Polley) Dittman Fl and Patricia (George) Jenkins of KY; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:30  Saturday, September 18 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral  Home in Greenville. Burial with full military honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will follow at Old Teegarden Cemetery near Ansonia. The family will receive family and friends on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the  Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home.  The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Woodington Congregational Christian Church, Greenville Rescue, or Ansonia Rescue.
