Roger Lee Kress

Roger L. Kress, 82, of Ansonia, passed away early Monday morning, May 28, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.

Roger was born on September 17, 1935 in Pitsburg, Ohio to the late Ira and Pearl (Beaver) Kress.

In addition to his parents, Roger was proceeded in death by, his siblings, Virginia Kress, Gerald Kress, Earla Jean McFall, and Larry Kress.

Roger was a life-long farmer, hard worker and enjoyed working with his hands. He enjoyed gardening and tinkering around with the farm equipment. He was quite the handyman and was always keeping himself busy, either on the farm or at his job. Roger worked at New Idea for 17 years, then moved on to Corning, where he retired after 13 years.

Roger is survived by his by his wife of 55 years, Betty (Hamman) Kress, whom he married on August 4, 1962; his daughter, Tina (Ron) Schoen of Coldwater, Ohio; his sons, Edward Kress of Ansonia, and David Kress of Greenville; his grandchildren, Eddie Kress, Taylor Keaser, Macy Kress, Tyler Kress, Dustin Bollinbaugh, Adam Brocious, Troy Schoen, and Clayton Schoen; three great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Shirley Kinnison of Greenville, and Donna Thompson of Beavercreek, Ohio.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will receive guests on Sunday, June 3, 2018, from 6 PM to 8 PM.

The family request that memorial contributions be made to Darke County Cancer Association, 1111 Sweitzer Street, Suite C, Greenville, Ohio 45331.
