Sherri Darlene Mcclellan

December 29, 1951 — April 18, 2011

Sherri D. (Drew) McClellan, 59, of Hollansburg, passed away on April 18, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. Sherri was born on December 29, 1951 to the late Ralph and Juanita (Williams) Drew.

Sherri was a graduate of New Madison Schools and retired from FRAM after 37 years of service in Greenville as an assembly worker. She loved to crochet, play cards such as euchre and pinochle, mushroom hunt, go fishing and enjoyed collecting Coca Cola memorabilia. Sherri loved to cook and was mostly known for her delicious fudge and cheese cakes. She was a big fan of NASCAR and Dale Earnhart Jr. Sherri enjoyed going to flea markets, and watching old westerns and soap opera’s on TV. However, her greatest love was spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Sherri is preceded in death by a brother, Steve Drew; two great nephews, Damion and Dakota; her father-in-law, Earl McClellan and mother-in-law, Virginia McClellan.

Sherri is survived by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” D. McClellan of 17 years; two daughters, Samantha (Roger) Billups and Bobbie Sue Hampshire; three grandchildren, Roberta Joellen “Joey” (Jason) Yost, Benjamin Joseph Hampshire and Kirsten Renee Hampshire; two great grandchildren, Shannon Renee Yost and Jason Scott Yost, Jr.; a brother, Ronnie (Joy) Drew; two sister, Shirley (Ernie) Spurrier, and Marsha Spurrier ; her mother-in-law, Patty Louk; three sister-in-laws, Linda Drew, Shirley (Rob) Cummoms and Tammy (Jim) Suttles; four brother-in-laws, Ron McClellan, Fred McClellan, Mark (Barb) McClellan and Mike (Wendy) McClellan; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from on Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 5-8 PM at Braund Funeral Home in New Madison. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 22, 2011 also at the funeral home with the Rev. Eric Fee being asked to officiate. The family requests memorial contributions be given to the Darke County Cancer Society or donors choice.
