William "Bill" A. Moore

William A. “Bill” Moore, 88, of New Paris, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2008, at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. Bill was born August 31, 1921, to the late Arthur M. and Elizabeth (Morrison) Moore.
Bill was a self employed dairy farmer, he was also a tech for COBA (Central Ohio Breeders Association), a Harrison Twp. Trustee for over 30 years where he was honored to sign for the first ambulance in Harrison Twp. He also served on the Liberty Local school board, a 1939 graduate of New Madison Schools, a deacon at the Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren, and a member of the New Madison Chapter of the Masonic Lodge. Bill served in the Navy during WW II as a seabee. Bill loved Farming, church, fishing in Canada and mostly spending time with family.
In addition to his parents Bill is preceded in death by ten brothers, Frank, Ross, Roger, Harry, Alvin, Bob, Clyde, John, Leslie and Lloyd; and four sisters, Helen Warren, Edith Tomb, Mary Ellen Williams and Rachel McWhorter.
Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Miriam (Alexander); sons, James “Jim” and wife Joy Moore of West Milton, Thomas and wife Vicky Moore of Hollansburg, William and wife Jill Moore of Hollansburg and Robert and wife Laura moore of Ludlow Falls; grandchildren, Tim and Nikki Moore and son Landen, Daniel and Sarah Moore and son Wyatt, Brittani and Brad Hampton, Brandon and Meggan Moore, Brennan Moore and fianc�e Austin, Jenna Moore, Ryan Moore and Maggie Moore; and a brother Don Moore of Eaton.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 4th, 2009 at the Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 5th, 2009 also at the church with the Rev. Jim Vandermark being asked to officiate. Family asked contributions be given to the Hospice or the Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren.
