Agness Ann Hurley

Agness Ann (Whiting) Hurley, age 81, of Piqua, OH, passed away on September 16, 2026, at Hospice of Miami County in Troy, OH.

She was born on September 30, 1944, in Sabine, WV, to the late Ben Franklin Whiting and Zelia Marie (Ewing) Lewis.

Agness is survived by her husband of 61 years, Stephen Hurley Sr.; son, Stephen Hurley Jr. and his wife, Tammy, of Sidney, OH; granddaughter, Madison Hurley of Columbus, OH; step-grandson, George Mathew Crans and his wife, Jessica, of Jacksonville, NC; many step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Emerson Whiting, Bennie Whiting, Talmadge Whiting, Roy Whiting, James Whiting, Zelda (Whiting) Evans, and Catherine (Whiting) Pack.

Agness retired from Kroger in Piqua, OH, in 2021. She enjoyed her work there, especially seeing and talking with the people she met each day. She also loved spending time with her family and growing her amazing flower garden.

Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Hospice of Miami County in Troy, OH.
