Amy Elizabeth Green

Amy Elizabeth Green, age 55, of Union City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at EverHeart Hospice Care Center in Greenville.

Amy was born on July 14, 1970, in Union City, Indiana, to the late Lyle Prewitt and Sara (Sykes) Prewitt.

Amy was preceded in death by her parents, and her second husband, Gary Green.

Those left to cherish Amy's memory include her husband, Bruce Sturgeon; her beloved daughters, Sara (Anthony) Mangas, Abigail Green (Wyatt Via), and Brandi (Clayton) Vondonhuvel; her brothers, Robert (Jennifer) Prewitt and Daniel (Lani) Prewitt; and her cherished grandchildren, Kain and Titan Mangas, Aryanna, Libby, Nell, Ella, and Kinsley Vondonhuvel.

Amy graduated from Union City High School in 1988. She dedicated more than 20 years of her life to caring for others as a STNA, spending 17 of those years at Rest Haven Nursing Home. Her compassion, kindness, and dedication left a lasting impact on both residents and coworkers.

Amy had a deep love for caring for others, a trait that extended beyond her career and into every part of her life. Amy and her autistic grandson, Kain, grew especially close and had a very special connection. She adored her beloved pets, enjoyed scratch-off tickets, and found joy in helping anyone in need. Amy also loved to cook and was known for making some of the best deviled eggs and thick peanut butter sandwiches.

Amy will be remembered for her caring heart, gentle spirit, and the love she shared so freely with her family, friends, and all those she served.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to EverHeart Hospice and the Neurology ICU Department at Miami Valley Hospital for the exceptional care, compassion, and support shown during this time.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus with funeral service to follow at 4:00 PM at the funeral home.

In Amy's honor, memorial contributions may be given to EverHeart Hospice.
