It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Dwight Ashley Griffin, age 48, of Greenville, who passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Wayne Healthcare, Greenville.
He was born on March 30, 1977 in Greenville to David and the late Diane (Ashley) Griffin.
In addition to his mother, David is preceded in death by his sister, John-Anna Beam.
Those left to cherish David's memory include his loving wife, Acie Griffin of Greenville; his father and step-mother, David and Marilyn Griffin; children, James (Ashley) Hannan of Greenville, Kurtis Yoder of Union City, OH; Kristina (Brandon) Teague of Ansonia, and Shelby (Walter) Lawton of Greenville; grandchildren, Kacie, Macie, Leah, Vanzel, Emrey; siblings, Nick (Tosha) Griffin, Eric Griffin, Michael Griffin, and Jeannette Benge; mother and father-in-law, Jim and Roberta Archey of Bradford; brother-in-law, Pete (Jenny) Archey of Maria Stein, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
David graduated from Greenville High School. He worked as a plant manager at Poeppelman Materials in Union City, IN. David was known for his hard work and willingness and ability to fix everything he got his hands on. He thoroughly enjoyed his job and the people he worked with.
David loved nothing more than his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed going fishing, pranks, and going to Vegas. David loved his dogs, Atlas and Thor, and his cat, George.
David's kindness, compassion, and unwavering support for his friends and family will be remembered forever. He had a unique ability to light up a room with his genuine smile and was always ready to lend an ear or offer comforting words. His passion for life and dedication to those he loved created a profound impact that will resonate in the hearts of many.
A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tribute Funeral Homes to help offset expenses.
