Dennis K. "Denny" Lecklider, 76, of Wayne Lakes (Greenville), Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025 surrounded by his family.
He was born on May 27, 1949 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Bert and Thelma (Neff) Lecklider.
Born with a spirit of adventure and a heart for service, Denny proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and bravely fought in the Vietnam War. After returning home, he began his career as a car salesman with Dority Chrysler before discovering his true passion in the skies.
Denny went on to become a highly respected pilot, flying for Piedmont and US Airways, where he ultimately served as Chief Pilot. After leaving commercial aviation, he continued doing what he loved most - flying - as a private pilot for companies including Achey's, Soin, and Midmark. He finished his remarkable aviation career with the FAA, where he was admired for his knowledge, professionalism, and integrity.
Denny is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Judith Lecklider; his daughter, Kelly (Max) Guillozet; stepchildren Kathy (Russ) Clark and Scott Kendall; and his cherished grandchildren Kyler (Cheyanne) Guillozet and Makenna Guillozet.
A man of quiet strength, humor, and loyalty, Denny was happiest near the water or out on the green. He loved fishing, playing golf, and spending time on his houseboat at Brookville Lake, where he made countless memories with family and friends.
Denny's life was one of service, dedication, and love. His legacy will carry on in the many people he touched - in the skies he flew, the family he cherished, and the stories he leaves behind.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Gettysburg Cemetery in Gettysburg, OH.
