Dixie Renee Mullennix

Dixie R. Mullennix, age 62, of Arcanum, OH peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones at 1:24 pm on August 10, 2026 at Everheart Hospice Center of Greenville.

Dixie was born on August 15, 1963 in Rome, NY to James & Karen (Mikesell) Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Harold & Phyllis (Dill) Spencer and Ernest & Violet (Eliker) Mikesell.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Mullennix whom she married August 28, 1989, step-daughter Natalie (Mullennix) Patterson, step-grandson Landon Patterson, her parents James and Karen Spencer, her sister Carmen (Allen) Howell, nephews Mark & Deirdre (Lachet) Howell, Nicholas & Hannah (Harris) Howell, niece Jennifer (Howell) & Joseph Lofino and numerous great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Dixie was Valedictorian of the Tri-Village class of 1981. She continued her schooling and received her Doctorate of Medicine from Wright State University in 1999. She was in family practice for 15 years where her love of helping people showed brightly through. She currently had been working at Kettering Behavior Health for many years. Dixie enjoyed reading, cooking, her kitties and spending time with family and her Harrison Street Baptist Church family.

She will be remembered for her love, joy, generosity, kindness, patience, and her great devotion to serving our Lord Jesus Christ. She loved teaching children and youth about Jesus, and many lives were changed for the better because of her love and witness for Christ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Darke County Animal Shelter or Everheart Hospice.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville with Pastor Kyle Herrmann officiating.
