Donald Leroy Legenzoff, age 83, of Greenville, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026, at Rest Haven.
Donald was born on June 4, 1943, in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Michael and Josephine (Rebross) Legenzoff.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Michele "Mike" (Kidder) Legenzoff; his brothers, Kenneth Legenzoff and Michael Legenzoff; and his special friend, Joanne Butler.
Donald is survived by his daughters, Dawn "Rikki" Legenzoff and Georgianne "George" (Randy) Lambright; his grandchildren, Devin (Anna) Kuchcinski, Richard "RJ" (Lauren) Polaski, and Mackenzie "Mack" Legenzoff; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Donald called Erie County, Pennsylvania home for most of his life. He was a self-employed mechanic who owned and operated several full-service gas stations and garages throughout the years. He was known to many as "Mr. Godwrench" because of his ability to fix pretty much everything that needed to be fixed, and probably some things that shouldn't have been. He also worked as a Snap-on Tool dealer, was a part of the maintenance crew for Springfield Township, Pennsylvania, and roamed the country as a pilot car driver, escorting oversized loads before finally deciding to retire. Donald also spent many years serving his community as a volunteer firefighter and EMT and thoroughly enjoyed working the dunking booth at the annual fireman's carnival.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, fixing things, all sorts of motorsports from mud bogs and 4 x 4 hill climbs to Nascar, and giving people a hard time along the way. He will be remembered for his helping nature and sense of humor.
Memorial contributions can be sent to the Cancer Association of Darke County, 1111 Sweitzer St Ste C, Greenville, OH 45331.
There will be no services at this time.
