Esther Ruth Lavy Roth, of Ansonia, Ohio, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 78 years old. Esther was first and foremost a devout Christian. She had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and relied on Him for her salvation. She has been reunited with Christ and will spend eternity praising Him.
Esther was born on December 12, 1947 in Delphi, Indiana and moved to Ohio when she was 10. She graduated from Arcanum High School in 1966 and attended Grand Rapids Baptist Bible College. Some of her earliest childhood memories were riding in a horse-drawn buggy and her family buying their first car. She enjoyed photography, decorating cakes, genealogy, sewing, crocheting, and cooking. She made the best pies and jams and loved tending to her vegetable garden with her grandkids and husband.
Esther had a fiery spirit and loved to laugh. She was incredibly hardworking and devoted to her family. She loved family reunions and playing card games around the kitchen table on holidays. She enjoyed driving tractors and helping her husband on the farm. She will be remembered for her faithfulness, generosity, and kindness.

2 Corinthians 5:6-9 “Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord – for we walk by faith, not by sight – we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. Therefore, we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.”
