Galina Sypko, age 83, of Greenville, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, surrounded by love.
She was born on July 11, 1942, in Russia to the late Vasiliy and Nadya Sypko, who instilled in her strong values of hard work, kindness, and devotion to family.
Galina spent most of her professional life working as a chemical engineer at a military plant in Russia, a role that required intelligence, precision, and dedication. She took great pride in her work and was known for her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. Her career reflected her sharp mind and determination, qualities that remained with her throughout her life.
Galina was a woman of deep passion and quiet strength. She found her greatest joy in gardening and spent countless hours nurturing her orchards, which she lovingly tended with patience and pride. Working with the earth brought her peace, and her gardens were a reflection of her care, dedication, and appreciation for life's simple beauties.
In addition to gardening, Galina loved reading and found comfort and inspiration in books. Music was also an important part of her life, and she especially enjoyed singing, often filling her home with song. These interests brought her happiness and were a source of comfort and creativity throughout her years.
Galina's greatest love was her family. She is survived by her cherished daughter, Julia (Jay) Whirley, who was the light of her life. Galina was a devoted mother whose love, guidance, and unwavering support will be remembered always.
