Gary R. Savage, Sr.

Gary Ralph Savage, Sr., age 82, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at his home.

He was born on February 7, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Ralph and Kathryn (Havlin) Savage.

Gary is survived by his wife of 40 years, Vickey (Baker) Savage, whom he married on October 13, 1984; his children, Tammy Fox of Yellow Springs, Ohio, Paul (Angie) Savage of Sarasota, Florida, Gary Savage, Jr. of Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, and Amber Savage of Dayton; his 5 grandchildren, Charles (Lacey) Fox, Amanda (Jarien) Tabor, Elizabeth (August) Capiola, Sarah Brooker, and Sam (Hayley) Savage; his 7 great grandchildren, Kennedy, Eleanor, Emerick, Alyce, Arlo, Ezra, and Nora; his brother, Rodger (Marica) Savage of Sarasota, Florida; his brother-in-law, Tom Breeden of Chillicothe, Ohio; his daughter Amber’s boyfriend, Nick Mitchell, Tammy’s partner, Tim Pugh, and Gerald and Delores Sleppy; and many life-long friends.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Berniece Breeden.

Gary worked for many years at Gayston Machine Shop in Dayton and Martin Marietta Materials. He was mostly self-taught in computer electronics and assisted in many schools and companies with computer integrations and security.

Gary was very active in the local republican club and was skilled in woodworking and electronics. He loved to read and was an avid book collector. He owned and operated Savage Used Books in Greenville for many years with his wife, Vickey.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held on a future date for family and friends.
