James L. Bolin

James "Coach" L. Bolin, age 75, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

He was born in Union City, Indiana on September 10, 1950, to the late James Sr. and Martha (Timmons) Bolin.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Renee Bolin, and his brothers, Kenny Bolin and Gary (Kay) Bolin.

James is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Tammy Sue (Zumbrun) Bolin, whom he married on August 25, 1974; and by his siblings, Mike Bolin of New Madison, Cathy (Mike) Wright of Union City, Ohio, and Chris (Jerry) Nestor of Greenville.

A 1969 graduate of Mississinawa Valley High School, James began his working years in area lumber yards before joining Sheller Globe in Union City. He later completed a 20-year career with Hills Pet Nutrition in Richmond, retiring with pride and dedication.

James was an avid sports fan and a lifelong mentor. Over 36 years, he poured his heart into coaching multiple sports, most notably girls' basketball, and shaping the lives of young athletes at Mississinawa Valley, Randolph Eastern, National Trail, Arcanum, Ansonia, Troy Christian, and IU East.

A faithful follower of Christ, James was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Greenville and volunteered with Youth for Christ, reflecting his deep commitment to service and community.

A celebration of James's life will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Drew Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Teegarden Cemetery.

Family and friends may visit on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
