Janice Elaine Anderson

Janice Elaine Anderson, age 96, of New Madison, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026 at her home. She was born on October 29, 1929 in Preble County, Ohio to the late Ivan and Mabel (Thompson) Beasley.

In addition to her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her loving husband, Dale E. Anderson; her sister and brother in law, Arlene (Keith) Miller; and nephew, Tony Miller. Those left to cherish Janice's memory include her children, Mark (Leah) Anderson of Spencerville, IN, Cathy (Alan) Corn of Pittsburgh, PA, and Brian (Sharon) Anderson of New Madison; grandchildren, Amy (Jason) Kabot, Julie (Joel) Schroeder, Jennifer (Dave) Evans, Emily (Jason) Vertullo, Evan (Stephanie) Anderson, Elizabeth (Ken) Lawson, Lauren (Brandon) Armstrong, and Kat (Matt) McNew; great grandchildren, Corey, Eric, Titus, Abby, Chloe, Hannah, Eleanor, Alexander, Parker, Thomas, Emmett, and Edie.

Janice graduated from New Madison High School in 1947, beginning a life marked by devotion to family, community, and the simple joys she cherished most. Just one year later, she married the love of her life, Dale, in 1948, and together they built a life full of love, partnership, and lasting memories.

Janice was a dedicated homemaker whose care and devotion created a warm and welcoming home for all who entered. She was actively involved in her community, belonging to the Fire Belles of New Madison, the Girl Scouts, and the Harmony Homemakers, where she formed many meaningful friendships and touched countless lives.

She found joy in life's creative and peaceful moments, whether through oil painting, working with ceramics, swimming, or traveling. Janice especially loved going on cruises, embracing every opportunity to explore and experience the world. She and Dale shared many happy times at their summer home in Traverse City, Michigan, and spent over 50 years in Lake Wales, Florida, creating a lifetime of cherished memories together.

Janice and her husband also owned farmland in New Madison, a reflection of their deep roots and connection to the land.

Her life was one of quiet strength, kindness, and enduring love, and she will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church in New Madison.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at the United Methodist Church in New Madison.

A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM at the church on Saturday. Burial will follow at Greenmound Cemetery.
