JoAnn Brown

JoAnn Brown, 74, of Hollansburg, Ohio, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. 

She was born on December 5, 1949, in Union City, Indiana, to the late Ralph and Virginia (Hampshire) Lacey. 

In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her grandson, Dustin Long. 

JoAnn is survived by her husband of 28 years, Timothy "Tim" Brown, whom she married on September 28, 1995; her children, Chad (Shari) Mikesell of New Madison, Don (Mary) Mikesell of Union City, Ohio, and Mike (Sherry) Mikesell of Union City, Ohio; her grandchildren, Travis (Lonni) Neargarder, Shauna Long, Tyler (Brie) Monticue, Maci (Shadd) Hines, Ryan (fiancé, Rachel Mendenhall) Mikesell; 6 great grandchildren with one on the way; her sisters, Candy (Cloyd) VanWinkle of Richmond, Sherry Ward of Union City, Ohio, and Terri Wolfe of Union City, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

JoAnn was a 1968 graduate of Union City High School. She was a member of the Greenville Moose, Greenville American Legion and the AmVets in Eldorado. In her free time, JoAnn enjoyed being outdoors and watching the rabbits, deer, and hummingbirds. She also enjoyed going camping and spending time with her family. 

A celebration of JoAnn's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Tribute Funeral Homes, New Madison Campus. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery. 

Guests may visit with JoAnn's family on Monday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service at 1:00 PM. 

Memorial contributions may be given to the Cancer Association of Darke County.
