Josephine G. Smith

Josephine G. Smith,77 , of Greenville, passed away Saturday morning, April 18, 2009 at her residence. She was born in Marlow, TN, daughter of the late Joe and Virgie (Baxter) Gilreath. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bennett G. Smith on June 17, 2001; her son, Bennett E. Smith on September 25, 1986; two sisters and a brother. She is survived by her children, Glenna (Terry) Sleppy of Colorado, Duane Smith of Alaska, Gary Smith of Greenville and Mark (Susan) Smith of Colorado; a daughter-in-law, Rose Smith of Greenville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Abrams and Judy Lay both of Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Friday, April 24 at 12:30 p.m. at the Palestine Cemetery with Pastor Doug Krauss officiating. The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Heartland Hospice.
