Joshua Wayne Armstrong

June 6, 2006 — January 16, 2026

Greenville, Ohio

Joshua Wayne Armstrong, age 19, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on January 16, 2026. Born on June 6, 2006, Josh was a young man whose life, though far too short, was filled with passion, dedication, and a deep love for his family, friends, and the traditions he held dear.

Josh was deeply passionate about three things in his life: baseball, draft horses, and his time at "the farm."

As a child, he discovered a love for baseball; he was a proud player known for his team spirit and dedication to the game. Whether practicing on the field, competing, or supporting his teammates, baseball was more than a sport to him-it was a place where he learned discipline, perseverance, and camaraderie.

Equally important to Josh was his involvement in the draft horse industry. The show ring was where he found peace and joy, whether showing Haflinger Draft Ponies with his grandparents and siblings for Crist Family Haflingers, or showing Belgian Draft Horses with his extended family for Flory Family Farms. He was a quiet learner who paid close attention to each hitch and listened to the horsemen in the industry whom he respected deeply. He took great pride in caring for, training, and presenting these powerful animals, developing a special bond with them and fellow members of the draft horse community.

Josh also cherished his time at "The Farm" with "The Boys." He was truly himself there, sharing a unique respect and bond with these young men. His family extends their deepest gratitude to the Schlechty families for the love they shared, the lessons they taught, and the lasting relationships formed.

Above all, Josh will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious smile, and willingness to help others. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued, and his presence left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Joshua is survived by his parents, Scott and Angie (Crist) Armstrong; his siblings, Allison (Peyton) Miller of Eaton, Ohio, Taylor (Collin) Poth of Versailles, Ohio, and Jacob Armstrong of New Madison, Ohio; his grandparents, Ronald and Deborah Crist, and Bill and Jane (Oliver) Armstrong; and his nephews, Ryder Miller and Waylon Poth. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Jason (Marcia) Crist, Kelly (Chuck) Smith, Ken (Amiee) Armstrong, and Mark (Amanda) Armstrong; cousins, Ruth, Hank, Kara, and Nora Smith, Preston Crist, Layne McClure, Isabella, Lexi, and Eli Armstrong; and the Flory family: Kevin, Michelle, Grant, Kate, Lauren, Della, and Bonnie; along with a large extended family.

Joshua was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dawn Zirkle Armstong.
