Judith "Judy" Eileen Baker, age 78, of Arcanum, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 10, 2026.
She was born on July 24, 1947 in Greenville to the late Walter H. Bromagem Sr. & Wavalene M (Eley) Bromagem.
In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Ferrante and Sylvia Stryker; brother, Walter Bromagem; and brothers in law, Jim Knick and Merlin Grosch.
Those left to cherish Judy's memory include her loving husband of 62 years, Eddie Baker, whom she married June 15, 1963; children, Barb (Don) Eilerman, Brenda (Gary) Besecker, and Donnie (Krishna Avalos) Baker all of Arcanum; siblings, Linda Knick of Arcanum, Gerald (Shirley) Bromagem of Greenville, Nancy (Jr) Bryant of Greenville, and Debbie Bromagem of Greenville; brother in law, Ivan Stryker of Bradford; sisters in law, Marilyn Grosch and Debbie (Doug) Holsapple; grandchildren, Mat (Terry) Vance, Abbi (Aaron) Wilson, Sarah (Chance) Ernst, Mike Eilerman, Dustin Vance, Jessica (Jesse) Simpson, Derrick Baker, Kory (Sabrina) Baker, Jessalyn (Ian) Golighty, Sierra Avalos and Hillary Avalos; and great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Eluxia, Evan, Jacob, Austin, Colton, Seth, Ryan, Mabel, and Quentin.
Judy loved her family with her whole heart: fiercely, selflessly, and without condition. She was the kind of mom and grandma everyone hopes for, the one who never missed a moment that mattered. Whether it was a game, a recital, a holiday, or just an ordinary day, she was always there cheering the loudest, smiling the biggest, and making each of us feel like we were the most important part of her world.
She had a way of putting others before herself in everything she did. Her love showed up in the little things and the big ones: in her support, her kindness, her comforting presence, and the way she made everyone feel safe, seen, and deeply loved. Being around her just felt like home.
The space she leaves behind is one that can never truly be filled. She will be missed more than words could ever begin to express, and her love will stay with us in everything we do.
Heaven gained someone incredibly special the day God called her home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Darke County Cancer Society or Everheart Hospice in Judy's honor.
