Linda K. Wappelhorst, age 79, of Greenville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at EverHeart Care Center in Greenville.

She was born on February 25, 1947, in Greenville, to the late Kenneth M. and Mildred M. (Tegtmeyer) Boyer.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Lee Wappelhorst; her brother, Rex Boyer; and her grandson, Steven Dakin.

Linda is survived by her children, Jeff (Shari) Wappelhorst and Missy (Charlie) Sutter; her grandchildren, Mariah (Chris) North, Dustin (Melissa) Hall, Joey (Megan) Wappelhorst, Ashley (Jared) Alig, Jennifer Fourman, and Freddie Dakin; great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Macy, Carter, Bentley, Lyla, Laden, Lexten, Larsen, Luken, Jaden, Kieren, Kamran, Klayten, Ryder, Luke, Lydia, Remi, Todd, Tesla, Lillian, Oliver, Thea, and Everette; her siblings, Judy (Ben) Hardy and Roxanne Barnes; her best friend since childhood, Mary Shumaker; and son in law, Fred Dakin.

Linda spent her career as an administrative assistant and in bookkeeping, with her last place of employment being Versailles Health Care Center. She was a talented seamstress who found great joy in sewing and creating special things for her family and others. She made clothing, countless doll clothes, and many treasured handmade gifts. One of her most memorable creations was a Santa suit she lovingly made for her beloved husband, Thomas.

Linda enjoyed playing bingo and cards, tending to her flowers, going shopping with her sister Judy, and spending time with those she loved. She also had a love for music and dancing. She especially loved cooking and feeding others, always finding joy in caring for the people around her.

Above all, Linda cherished her family. Her grandchildren were the world to her, and she absolutely adored babies. She will be remembered for her creativity, generous heart, and the love she poured into everything she did. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories she leaves behind and will miss her dearly.

Memorial contributions may be made to Linda's family or Everheart Hospice.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM- 12:00 PM on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday with Rev. Eric Fee officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Greenville.
