Marceil Johnston

It is with mixed emotions that the immediate family of Marceil Johnston of Arcanum, Ohio, announce her passing. Marceil, age 98, died January 16, 2026, at Brookdale Senior Living in Greenville following eight months of severe failing health.

Marceil was preceded in death by Franklin, her husband, of 54 years and survived by Marilyn and Ralph Holsopple, daughter and son-in-law.

A lifetime resident of Darke County, Marceil left school at the age of 15. Over the years, she worked in Arcanum at the Tomato Cannery, Racquet Factory, Hustons Restaurant, and Blevins Popcorn Factory.

A private graveside service was held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Abbottsville Cemetery.
