Marjorie Ann Schutt Unthank

September 30, 1991 — December 29, 2025

West Manchester, Ohio

Marjorie "Margie" Ann Schutt Unthank, age 34, passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2025.

She was born September 30, 1991, in Greenfield Indiana to Paula and Jerry Schutt and is survived by her brother Andy (Rhonda) Schutt, as well as her parents, and her longtime love, husband Jake Unthank of rural West Manchester. They were recently married on October 10, 2025. Marjorie was blessed with and survived by her three beautiful children Connor, Camryn and Aubree Upton along with their father Cody Upton, and Mee Maw and G Paw Upton.

Mrs. Unthank grew up on her family farm in rural New Madison, Ohio and was a 2010 graduate of Tri-Village High School and 2011 graduate of Edison Community College. Marjorie was especially proud of earning her bachelor's degree at Wright State University. Marge loved animals (pets and livestock), as a young lady she was active in 4-H and FFA leadership and was a former goat princess and queen at the Great Darke County Fair. During her teenage years it was not uncommon for her to walk a goat to the bank in town or drive a farm tractor to school functions. Margie was known as a hard worker, beginning at an early age working with her family farm, restaurant and inn businesses She was energetic, strong and an independent thinker and started her own family with Cody Upton, beginning with the birth of her son Connor in 2017, then Cami in 2019, and followed by Aubree during covid 2020.

Marjorie had touched many lives and was loved and will be missed by many aunts, uncles, family members and friends spreading across Indiana and Ohio with a special closeness to Aunt Kathy in Tennessee. Bright, beautiful, fun loving with a great sense of humor, she also touched many lives in southern Ohio by managing the front desk at the Murphin Ridge Inn from 2013-2018. Margie returned to the Darke and Preble County community to raise her children and work at her careers. She had a strong faith in God and had made her own decision to become baptized in 2002 at the Palestine Church of Christ. The tragedy of her death struck just two short months after Margie became a member of the Unthank family. Jake and Marge had a special love that dated back to high school and finally realized their longtime dream of marriage. They had just recently enjoyed a beautiful cruise ship vacation honeymoon together and they were planning more trips and fun in 2026.

Marjorie loved her children, husband, animals, families, friends, God and Country. The Schutt, Upton and Unthank families are requesting prayers for Marjorie's three young children and for the those who care for them.
