Norman Lee Didier, age 89 of Versailles, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Greenville.
He was born on May 12, 1935 in Darke County to the late Clarence and Dorothy (Bulcher) Didier.
In addition to his parents, Norman is preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Didier.
Those left to cherish Norman's memory include his loving wife, Maxine (Kenworthy) Didier, whom he married on July 22, 1961; children, Jeff Didier (Deb) of Covington, Scott Didier (Lai) of Raleigh, NC, and Chris Didier of Union City, OH; grandchildren, Michael, Jamie, Kari, Mindy, Lindsey, Bradley, Jacob, Tucker, Evan, and Elaine; great grandchildren, Colt, Cooper, Anna, Thomas, and David; siblings, Charlie Didier (Peggy) of Arcanum and Janet Grimes (Larry) of Union City, IN; sister in law, Norma Didier of Mississippi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Norman graduated from Gettysburg High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked many years as a carpenter for various different businesses and he was also a farmer. Norman had a passion for collecting, especially corn shellers and butter churners. Norman also enjoyed spending time with his family and spent a lot of time in the woods cutting wood.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Frenchtown with Father Matt Feist celebrating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
An open-house style celebration of life will be held from 3:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 and again on Wednesday from 9:00-9:45 AM at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Everheart Hospice, Greenville.
