Patrick "Pat" Lee Scantland

Patrick "Pat" Lee Scantland, age 68, of Greenville, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 at his home.

He was born on March 15, 1958 in to the late Carolyn Faye (Plank) Ableman and David Scantland.

Pat is preceded in death by his parents, David E. Scantland and Carolyn F. (Plank) Ableman; his significant other, Kathy Jesse; his brother, Robert Scantland; his granddaughter, Marissa Portemont; and his great-niece, Katelyn Shumaker.

Pat is survived by his siblings, Christie Scantland-Miller, Demonta "Dee" Scantland, Thomas Scantland, and Kim Ableman. He is also survived by his children, Justin Scantland (Jennifer), Jeremy Scantland (Krista), Jeff Weyant (Sarah), and Terri Jesse (JC); grandchildren, Chase Scantland, Quest Scantland, Jordan Midlam (Brittany), Garrett Kaiser, Gavin Kaiser, Blake Weyant, Faith Weyant, Keegan Portemont, Blaine Hawkey, Addy Halcomb, Seth Jesse, and Elizabeth Jesse; many great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will cherish his memory.

Pat was a 1977 graduate of Tri-Village High School. After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army. Following his military service, Pat became known as a true "jack of all trades," always willing to lend a hand and able to fix just about anything.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
