Randall N. Elam, age 63, of Greenville, Ohio, died on April 9, 2026, of undisclosed causes in Greenville.
Mr. Elam was born on December 24, 1962, in Pineville, Kentucky, a coal-mining town, to the late Owen and Virginia (Stokes) Elam. Soon thereafter, he moved with his family to Greenville when his father got a job on the Penn Central Railroad. In his childhood on the farm, Mr. Elam learned the value of hard work that served him well in his career.
After graduating from Greenville High School in 1980, he worked his way through college at Wright State University by baling hay and working as a librarian, culminating in his graduation with his business degree in 1985. Mr. Elam rose through the ranks of Northwestern Mutual Life, building a clientele of physicians that spanned the United States.
While Mr. Elam was passionate about his apple orchard and gardening, he was pleased most with spending time with his loving wife Patricia and daughter Samantha (whom he called "Puffy"). They were the loves of his life. After retiring at the age of 52, he was finally able to spend the quality of time he wanted with his family.
Mr. Elam is survived by his loving wife, Trish, whom he married in 2007, and beautiful daughter Samantha (Sami) Elam. He is also survived by his siblings, B. Roger Elam of Springboro, Sharon K. Elam of Greenville, Karen F. Murphy of Greenville, Bill Elam of Harrogate, Tennessee, and Wayne Elam of Indianapolis, Indiana.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Elam is preceded in death by his sister, Martina C. Beech; and brother, Tabby L. Elam.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Castine Church of the Brethren, 624 State Route 127, Arcanum, Ohio.
