Richard Nathan Kiser, age 91, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the Dayton VA Medical Center.
He was born on July 23, 1934, to the late Richard Kiser and Mary (Hagaman) White.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, JoeAnne Radigan and Rock A. Kiser, and his stepsister, Delores Schlechty.
Those left to carry on Richard's memory is his beloved wife of more than 70 years, Betty (Johnston) Kiser, whom he married on July 17, 1955. He is also survived by his children: John (Rebecca) Kiser of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Michael L. Kiser of Greenville, Barbara A. Miller of Greenville, and Joni L. Reser of Arcanum, Ohio.
He leaves behind a large and loving family, including his grandchildren: Richard A. Kiser, Jennifer M. Kiser, Michael S. Kiser, Matthew W. Kiser, Chelsea N. Bingham, Rachael E. (Andy) Pfledderer, Laura B. Miller, Timothy K. Reser, Nathaniel L. Reser, and Stephen T. Reser. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren; Alex, Renae, Luke, Nataya, Xavier, Levi, Miah, Khaidyn, Ronin, Lily, Trenton, Rylie, Elijah, Jaxon, Charlotte, Elias, Betty, and Waylon. Great-great-grandchildren; Bodhi, Jade, Juniper, Daylen, Alton, and one on the way; his stepbrother, Denny Forte; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard proudly served his country in the United States Navy, serving during the Korean conflict, and treasured his time aboard the USS Iowa. During his time in the Navy, he worked as a firefighter and welder. He took great pride in his service to his country.
He was a faithful member of Coletown Congregational Christian Church, where he served as a deacon. He also belonged to the Masonic Temple, Scottish Rite, and Shriners. He worked in the factory for 12 years at NCR. Richard worked as a sales manager and retired from Prudential in Greenville and the Darke County area for over 20 years. He was also a business owner, having owned Van Bebber Jewelers in Greenville.
Richard had a love for life, adventure, and spending time with his family. He enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, tinkering in his barn, and was proud to have visited all 50 states.
Memorial contributions may be made to Coletown Congregational Christan Church.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus.
A celebration of Richard's life will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Knight officiating. Burial will follow at Harris Creek Cemetery.
