Rickie Lee Hess

Rickie Lee Hess Jr., age 52, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 29, 2026.

He was born on August 7, 1974, in Huntington, Indiana, to Phyllis D. (Peters) Hess, and the late Rickie L. Hess. In addition to his father, Rickie was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Hess.

Rickie is survived by his loving mother, Phyllis Hess of Greenville; his daughters, Sierra Hess, Zeana Hess, and Breana Hess, all of Greenville, and Ashley Bennett of Winchester; and his grandchildren, Dallas Hess, Ellie Rice, Alice Rice, Grayson Harless, Blakeley Bennett, and Leelynn Bennett.

He is also survived by his girlfriend, Jamie Maloy of Greenville, his childhood best friend, Nate Wayne Young of Tennessee; his friends Shaun Ginter, Shawn Foster, and Justin Brown, all of Greenville; his nieces and nephews, Mackenzie, Makayla, Rylie, Leland Hess, and Gavin Leppert; his great-niece, Genesis Bright; and his aunts, Candy Hoover of Greenville, and Carol (Jon) Bentley of Indiana.

Rickie graduated from Greenville High School in 1992. He installed hardwood flooring for Zach Snyder Flooring and also worked as a mechanic for many years.

Rickie loved riding motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson's. He even did a few wheelies from time to time. He enjoyed fishing, taking trips and vacations with family, attending concerts, playing corn hole, and going to black light bingo with his family and friends. He was a proud fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Rickie had a loving and wild spirit that was impossible to forget. He was funny, caring, generous, and a little crazy in the best way. He had a way of bringing laughter and excitement wherever he went, and he made memories with the people he loved that will last a lifetime.

He will forever be remembered for his wild spirit, his big heart, and the joy he brought to the lives of so many.A celebration of Rickie's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus. Guests may visit with his family on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the start of the service at 3:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Rickie's life, share cherished memories, and honor the love, laughter, and unforgettable spirit he brought to those around him.
