Robert L. Sherry, 91, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.
He was born on February 26, 1932, in Versailles, Ohio, to the late Homer and Mary (Masner) Sherry.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses, Doris (Ellis) Shahan, and William "Bill" (Lucille) Sherry.
Bob was a graduate of Versailles High School. He was drafted into the United States Army, where he served his country honorably until he was discharged in 1954. Bob owned and operated Bob Sherry Construction, Inc, and was a well-respected home builder in Darke County. He was truly a craftsman and loved working with his hands. Bob was a member of the Greenville American Legion, Post 140, Greenville VFW Post 7262, and the Darke County Farmers Union.
Bob is survived by his loving wife and companion of 56 years, Phyllis (Musselman) Sherry, whom he married on November 19, 1966; his daughters, Deb (Doug) Neff of Palestine and Diane Sherry of Greenville; his 2 grandchildren; his brother Paul Sherry of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob's family would like to thank all their family and friends who have helped during this difficult time.
A celebration of Bob's life will take place at 12:30 pm on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Greenville Union Cemetery.
Guests may visit on Friday from 11:00 am until the service at 12:30 pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to EverHeart Hospice, the Greenville American Legion, or the Greenville. VFW.
