In Loving Memory of Rodney Douglas McFarland
July 19, 1951 – September 13, 2025
Rodney Douglas McFarland, 74, of New Madison, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on September 13, 2025.
Rodney was born on July 19, 1951, in Richmond, Indiana, to Arnold and Annie McFarland.
In his younger years Rodney enjoyed traveling and fishing with his bass club. Rodney was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping and being in nature. He took great pride in his woods where he found peace and comfort in the quiet beauty of nature. He retired from the Body Company after many years of dedicated work. After retirement, he continued to spend his time outdoors practicing bushcraft and biking through the region.
Rodney will be remembered most for the love and kindness he showed to everyone around him. He had a generous heart and never hesitated to lend a hand, share what he had, or simply be there when someone needed him. His thoughtfulness, gentle nature, and ability to make others feel cared for left a lasting impression on all who knew him. To his family and friends, Rodney was more than just a companion — he was a source of comfort, laughter, and unwavering support.
Rodney is survived by his brothers Larry, Dale, and Bruce McFarland M.D; his niece Megan McFarland; cousin Judy Gibson; many other cousins; and his special friend Kristyn (Tommy) Wallace, along with their children Kallie and Nash, who brought him great joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Annie McFarland.
Rodney’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
