Ronald E. Shaner, 75, of Rossburg, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at his home.
He was born on October 15, 1946, in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Dan and Lovina Mae (Bruner) Shaner.
Ron was a 1964 graduate of Fort Recovery High School. After high school, he continued his education by attending trade school in Muncie, Indiana. Ron was a tool-and-die maker for many years. He worked for Hi-Tech Wire in St. Henry, New Idea in Coldwater, and retired from D.A. Fitzgerald Company in Greenville.
When Ron wasn't at work, he could be found in his workshop, building model engines and helping his sons with home improvement projects. He enjoyed going to the annual gas engine show in Portland, Indiana, each year. Ron assisted in coaching the Ansonia Youth Baseball League during the 1970s.
Ron is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda (Duke) Shaner, whom he married on January 1, 1968; his children, Jon (Lucinda) Shaner, of Rossburg, and David (Megan) Shaner, of Newark, Ohio; his grandchildren, Daniel Shaner and Kristine Shaner, both of Rossburg; his siblings, Shirley (Ron) Litmer, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, and Diana (Bill) Hinshaw, of Portland, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Ron's life will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
Guests may visit with Ron's family on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service at the funeral home.
