Rowen Edward Lacey, age 17, of Greenville, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
He was born on May 23, 2008, in Oxford, Ohio, to Mark and Ashley Lacey.
In addition to his parents, Rowen is survived by his sister, Adelynn Lacey; brother, Silas Lacey; grandparents, Wade and Joanna Lacey, Danny Walters, and Wendy Knox; great-grandparents, Joyce and Jimmy Matthews and Don Walters; great-aunts, Amy Fields, Terri and Mike Finley, and Robin Brockman; aunts, Amber and Dustin Cronk and Amanda Schroeder; and cousins, Matthew Finley, Brooklynn Cheek, Blaine Schroeder, Tegan Schroeder, Grayson Cronk, and Aurora Cronk; and a multitude of other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Reed and Carolyn Lacey, Elvan and Sandra Martin, and Geneva Walters.
Rowen was a senior at Greenville High School, where he ran track and took construction courses. He was also working in construction at Dan Studebaker Construction, taking pride in learning skills that reflected his strong work ethic and attention to detail. Rowen had a deep love for woodworking, sharpening and polishing tools, fishing, and working out. He also enjoyed running, having ran several 5k’s. Above all, he adored his dog, Zelda, and his girlfriend's dog, Opie.
What Rowen cherished most, however, was time spent with the people he loved-his family and all his friends. He especially treasured growing up alongside his sister and brother, and the unbreakable bond they have as siblings. Those moments meant everything to him.
Rowen will always be remembered for his infectious, bright smile that could light up any room. He was caring, loving, meticulous, and funny, with a sharp mind and a natural ability to solve problems. Rowen had a gentle heart and a thoughtful soul, and his kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and loved forever.
Rowen’s legacy lives on through many lives he was able to change through organ donation.
