Ruth Kepler

Ruth Kepler, age 95, of Greenville and the Brethren Retirement Community, formerly of Pitsburg, OH passed away July 27, 2025 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, OH.

Ruth was born March 18, 1930 near Arcanum to the late Carl and Rosella (Delaplane) Blumenstock.

She is preceded in death by her husband Donald on January 31, 2021; sisters, Phyllis Henninger, Jean Wehr and Marilou Cole; brother, Robert Blumenstock; niece, Gina Cole; and by infant great granddaughters, Stella Rose and Kendyll Dale Williams.

Ruth is survived by her son, David (Dixie) Kepler of Pitsburg; daughters, Beth Schrodi, of Pitsburg and Barbara (Duane) Denlinger of Farmersville. Also surviving are grandchildren, Ryan Kepler, Christina (Curtis) Belin, Tyler (Megan) Schrodi, Leighanne (Matthew) Williams, Heather (Manfred) Schreyer, Vanessa (Jason) Silvers; and great-grandchildren, James and Marcus Ray, Harper and Avery Schrodi, Nolan, Landon and Ezra Williams, Wyatt and Luke Schreyer, and Brock and Dylan Silvers.

Ruth is also survived by her brother, Dwaine (Betty) Blumenstock of Minnesota; brother-in-law, John Cole, Dayton; sister-in-law, Marie Blumenstock, Zanesville; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Ruth was retired from Wayne Health Care after many years of faithful service as a registered nurse. She graduated from Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing in 1950 and was a lifetime member of the MVH School of Nursing Alumni. She was a former member and first president of the Wayne Professional Nurses' Association. Ruth was a member of the Fancy Feather Red Hat Society and a retired nurse's Red Hat group. For over 42 years she was an active participant of the Harvard School of Medicine nurses' health study.

Ruth was a member of the Pitsburg Lion's Club.

A Memorial service will be held at the Brethren Retirement Community, Shuff Chapel at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 9, 2025.

A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Brethren Retirement Community.
