Steve L. Jeffers

Steven "Steve" Jeffers, 70, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Kettering Health Preble in Eaton, Ohio. 

He was born on May 19, 1953, in Richmond, Indiana, to the late John and Geneva (Brinkley) Jeffers.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brothers, Ron Jeffers, John David Jeffers, and Rick Jeffers.

Steve is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sally (Hartzell) Jeffers, whom he married on December 1, 1973; his sons, Steve Jeffers, Jr. of Greenville, and Scott Jeffers, of Greenville; his granddaughters, Briana (Fiancé, Josh Neuner) Jeffers of New Lebanon, Ohio, and Jade Jeffers of Greenville; his great grandson, Kingston Quinn; his siblings, Connie Taulbee of Greenville, Caren Long of Greenville, and Tim (Judy) Jeffers of Arcanum; and his pups, Peanut and Taz. 

Steve worked for the Union City Body Company and Workhorse until he retired. However, Steve never truly retired, and he always had some kind of odds and ends job. Steve was an avid auction attender and was commonly known as "Tradin Joe". He enjoyed cars and working on them and liked to mow his lawn. He was also a member of UAW Local 494. Steve had a heart of gold and would give his shirt off his back to help others. His ornery personality and sense of humor will be missed. 

A celebration of Steve's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Dale Boeger officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. 

Guests may visit with Steve's family on Friday from 11:30 AM until the start of the service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorial contributions be given to Tribute Funeral Homes to help offset final expenses.
